Moinho do Zambujal
Resort:
Boliqueime
This unique and impressive villa is painted in attractive shades of yellow and green. Moinho do Zambujal is set in extensive gardens with a pretty barbeque close to the pool which enjoys lovely country views. Another section of the garden contains a hammock and there is a children's play area with a see-saw, slide and swing. Original threshing circles have been transformed into charming sunbathing areas and there are wonderful, established yucca and palm trees. Although parts of the main house have been recently added, they have been sympathetically designed to blend in with the traditional design. The hall has a domed ceiling, lovely floor tiles and some unusual pieces of antique furniture. The bedrooms are individually designed with wooden floors and each has its own colour scheme. There is a games room on the first floor, equipped with a chess set and pool table. The original windmill, dating back to 1900, is set in the garden and forms a charming part of the accommodation. We should stress that due to its age, the floors in the windmill are not level and the wibbly-wobbly staircase leading to the bedroom is not suitable for children, the elderly or anyone with walking difficulties. This is compensated for by the romantic accommodation; a tiny sitting room with a bathroom opening off it and a quaint bedroom area at the top of the stairs. The villa is equipped with electric heaters.
