In the hills behind Faro there are some wonderful towns and villages which remain relatively unaffected by tourism. Loulé is a typical, bustling market town with lots of history and remnants of its Roman and Moorish past, including the old castle walls and mosque-like churches. As the coast has developed, gradually more villas have been built on the almond tree filled hills surrounding Loulé but this has not changed the character of the town; if you wander down the cobbled side streets, you will find workshops with craftsmen busily working on leatherware, weavers making baskets and metal workers beating out copperware.
São Brás is a sleepy town 12kms from Loulé with a central square, an interesting museum, several restaurants and few tourists. Close by is the village of Estoi which has Roman ruins, an 18th Century palace and an excellent market held on the second Sunday of each month. Mr W. Aug 17 "We had a wonderful stay at Villa Saragoca. The Villa was lovely, spacious, clean and with great views. All 5 of us enjoyed our time there. Also, can you pass on our thanks to Martin for looking after us. It was good to see him when he called in, and knowing he was available if needed.
Thank you Villa Agency for a great holiday."
Mrs G "We had the most wonderful time and am already looking forward to coming back next year, to the same villa hopefully".
Ms T "Spoke to your staff on telephone and found them all excellent. Your website one of the best for content, navigation & clarity. Keep up the good work"
Mr M "My husband and I along with two friends have just returned from our holiday in the Villa Saragoca in Boliqueme. I am writing to say how delighted we were with every aspect of our holiday, from the time of first contacting you, through the process of booking, the information we received before our holiday right up until our contact with the villa manager, our delightful cleaning lady and the man who looked after the garden. Thank you all very much for helping to make our holiday memorable. We would certainly recommend your company to anyone who was looking for a holiday in Portugal. Kind regards, Toni"
Mrs L "Thank you we had lovely holiday. We loved the villa and would be pleased to use your company again and would stay in the villa."
Mrs P "We have just returned from a 2 week stay in Villa Saragoca in Boliquieme and had the most enjoyable time. We saw the maid on our arrival but didn't see her again as we were out and about each day but we knew she had been on several occasions throughout our stay.
The pool is perfect. I could not fault the man "Elder" who came every other day to clean the pool. He was there around 8am for about half an hour. He never made a sound during his visit. The pool was spotless and he really is a credit to the owners.
The Villa isnt modern but it's light and bright. The lounge has huge windows that overlook the garden/pool area and give fantastic views across to the coast. It is comfortable and clean. It is well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday but the lack of a decent BBQ let's it down slightly. There is a BBQ for use but it is a old portable one and wasn't the best.
We saw the Villa manager on our first day only but this was only because we have visited Portugal on several occasions and told him we did not need him to attend again and he was happy with that. He was very welcoming however and gave recommendations for restaurants nearby.
We have stayed in this Villa previously and would return again.
Thank you to Ginny and Yannushka for the ease of booking and contact throughout. We will be back!"
