Altavista - Summary

This splendid farmhouse was originally a little “metato” used by the local farmers as storage and then as stables. The house has been renovated and enlarged by the current owners who have created a splendid house with breathtaking views of the Lucca area and the Valdinievole. It is built in traditional stone and reflects a typical Tuscan house, with terracotta floors and tiles, beamed ceilings and a stone staircase. The house measures about 250 square metres and internally comprises three apartments, of which two connect. The furniture has an antique feel but the house is itself very comfortable and perfect to have a relaxing and private holiday. Set on one of the most famous hills of the Lucca area which is well known not only for the view but for the air quality.

The garden of Altavista covers a surface of 3000 square metres, most of them as lawn, enriched by flowers and ornamental plants. There are external dining areas, the main is covered by the American vineyards and connected with the main kitchen on the ground floor. There are a barbecue and wood oven for use. The impressive views that people can enjoy from the garden are infinite.

The swimming pool is on a panoramic terrace from which you can enjoy a unforgettable view. It has a rectangular shape with chlorine depuration and a PVC lining. The entrance to the pool is through two internal staircases. The pool is about 20 metres from the house and is accessible through a staircase of about 21 steps. The solarium area is paved, has many plants and flowers and is equipped with sunbeds, sun loungers and umbrellas. There is also a solar shower.

The swimming pool will be available for use between the last Saturday of April and the first Saturday of October, at other times of the year the property is rented without use of the pool.

Tuscany, Italy

It is not surprising that Tuscany and Umbria are the most popular destinations in a country full of popular destinations! There are SO many reasons to visit the regions; from the simply but stunning local cuisine and wine to the rolling landscapes, from the medieval cities such as Lucca, great architecture and monuments in Pisa and the beautiful hill towns like San Gimignano. There really is something for everyone. Lucca is located at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is less than half an hour from the Tuscan coast. There are so many traces of it’s ancient history, from the footprint of the Roman amphitheatre to the archeological remains under the 12th Century church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata and the various towers and villas dating from the 12th to the 16th Centuries. Amazingly, as Lucca grew the city walls remained, which is not the case for many of the cities in Tuscany. As the walls lost their military importance, the tops became a pedestrian walkway, today one of Lucca...
