Podere dei Bagni - Summary

Privacy, space and natural beauty are the keywords for this villa. Podere dei Bagni is a restored farmhouse and guest house situated high in the Tuscan hills. Here, guests can feel the warm breezes from the valleys di Paglia and di Chiana and gaze upon the historic Appeninni Mountains in total privacy.

The grounds surrounding Podere dei Bagni were designed with an eye toward keeping the ecology and natural beauty of the area in mind. Natural materials have been used wherever possible in the patio and pool area where guests can take a refreshing swim in the gently rolling terrain.  The farmhouse is energy efficient with power provided by a windmill and solar panels.

The restoration of the farmhouse was lovingly done with the preservation of the natural surrounding beauty and Tuscan architecture in mind. Up to 12 guests can be accommodated between the two houses (with an additional two on a sofa bed). Exposed wooden beams hewn from chestnut and locust trees span rooms, Italian marble tile floors blend with antique furniture and pine windows open to the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

The guest house has been thoughtfully designed with consideration for those with limited mobility. This home consists of a spacious living room with fireplace, master bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with two beds and a full bath with shower. The master bedroom also has a private entry from the outside.

Tuscany, Italy

It is not surprising that Tuscany and Umbria are the most popular destinations in a country full of popular destinations! There are SO many reasons to visit the regions; from the simply but stunning local cuisine and wine to the rolling landscapes, from the medieval cities such as Lucca, great architecture and monuments in Pisa and the beautiful hill towns like San Gimignano. There really is something for everyone. Lucca is located at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is less than half an hour from the Tuscan coast. There are so many traces of it’s ancient history, from the footprint of the Roman amphitheatre to the archeological remains under the 12th Century church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata and the various towers and villas dating from the 12th to the 16th Centuries. Amazingly, as Lucca grew the city walls remained, which is not the case for many of the cities in Tuscany. As the walls lost their military importance, the tops became a pedestrian walkway, today one of Lucca...
