This farmhouse is located in the heart of sweet Tuscan hills at San Miniato, a short walk from the small village of Ponte a Egola. The property dates back to the year 1000 and has recently been restored by the current owners who have retained, where possible, original materials and features, creating a perfect alchemy between the ancient and modern. The farmhouse is set in 50 hectares and is in an ideal location to spend a holiday in complete tranquility and in contact with nature. Horse riding and riding lessons, are available and there are some beautiful walks and hikes along the many paths. Casa Germana is part of a working farm. The main product is olive oil made from three different types of olive trees. Olives are collected manually, following the procedure called “brucatura”, at the right stage of ripening. They are then cold pressed possibly on the same day they are collected. You will experience real Italian hospitality and the caretakers live in a small house close by but are very respectful of clients privacy.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and in every apartment there is a small safe. All rooms are furnished with carefully restored period pieces of furniture.
There is a separate one storey annex situated about seventy metres from the main house. The entrance is via the kitchen which has a table to seat six. Both the bedrooms and the sitting room open onto the garden.
The park of the farmhouse, measures about 50 hectares, of which a part is cultivated as wood, garden, olives and vineyards. The area around the farmhouse is lawn enriched with flowers and ornamental plants and olive trees. In an area in front of the house there is a wood oven and a gazebo with tables and chairs ideal for outdoor meals. For those people who loves animals, and particularly horses, the farmhouse offers the chance to take one of their horses for a ride along the paths of the over 50 hectares inside a natural park.
The rectangular shape swimming pool has chlorine depuration and a PVC lining. The entrance is through an internal staircase. The pool is about 10 metres from the house and is accessible via a staircase of about 20 steps. The solarium area is lawn with many types of plants and flowers and is equipped with sunbeds, sun loungers and umbrellas. There is also a bathroom with shower.
The swimming pool will be available for use between the last Saturday of April and the first Saturday of October, at other times of the year the property is rented without use of the pool.

There are SO many reasons to visit the regions; from the simply but stunning local cuisine and wine to the rolling landscapes, from the medieval cities such as Lucca, great architecture and monuments in Pisa and the beautiful hill towns like San Gimignano. There really is something for everyone. Lucca is located at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is less than half an hour from the Tuscan coast. There are so many traces of it’s ancient history, from the footprint of the Roman amphitheatre to the archeological remains under the 12th Century church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata and the various towers and villas dating from the 12th to the 16th Centuries. Amazingly, as Lucca grew the city walls remained, which is not the case for many of the cities in Tuscany.
