Il Frutteto - Nespola - Summary

Located in the small medieval village of Lari, Il Frutteto is set above the town, in front of the castle with a wonderful view over the village. It is 130m above sea level and is the perfect base from which to visit the famous Tuscan cities, thermal baths and the sea. The village, developed around the castle, is peaceful and welcoming. It is famous both for the castle (Castello dei Vicari) and also for the Martelli artisan pasta factory.

Il Frutteto is surrounded by a large park containing olive and fruit trees. There is a shared swimming pool and two main buildings, one red, one yellow, each of which contains four Tuscan-style apartments.

Each apartment is equipped with all modern equipment and each has its own veranda overlooking the gardens.

There is a 24 hour reception where guests can book tours, activities and tastings.

There is also a restaurant on site which serves traditional Tuscan dishes.

It is possible to book these apartments on a half board basis. This includes breakfast & a 2 course dinner (excludes alcohol). The cost of this is £25 a head. For children between 3 & 8 years this price is reduced to £11 a head. Prices per day.

Tuscany, Italy

It is not surprising that Tuscany and Umbria are the most popular destinations in a country full of popular destinations! There are SO many reasons to visit the regions; from the simply but stunning local cuisine and wine to the rolling landscapes, from the medieval cities such as Lucca, great architecture and monuments in Pisa and the beautiful hill towns like San Gimignano. There really is something for everyone. Lucca is located at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is less than half an hour from the Tuscan coast. There are so many traces of it’s ancient history, from the footprint of the Roman amphitheatre to the archeological remains under the 12th Century church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata and the various towers and villas dating from the 12th to the 16th Centuries. Amazingly, as Lucca grew the city walls remained, which is not the case for many of the cities in Tuscany. As the walls lost their military importance, the tops became a pedestrian walkway, today one of Lucca...
