This house is set in the Alta Valdera, in between Pisa and Volterra, in an estate of about 500 heactres. It is part of a notable farm founded at the beginning of 1940’s, which is renowned for it's wonderful production of a great San Giovese wine and a tasty oil. The property dates back to the beginning of the early 11th century and was originally a Monastery (Benedettini followed by Camaldonesi) before becoming a farm. It is possible to arrange weddings and events on the estate. It is a typical Tuscan farmhouse bordered by oak and cypress forests, vines and olive groves. On the same estate are Casale Selvola and Casale Luigi.
The farmhouse is surrounded by a spacious garden immersed amongst woods and olive groves. A wonderful pergola has been created, with direct access from the living room, under which guests can enjoy memorable moments and meals. Also nearby the property there is an antique wood oven and barbeque. The house is ideal for a large family or group of friends wanting to enjoy a vacation in complete privacy, cooking in the old oven outside, to enjoy a barbeque or relax in the large veranda. All the bedrooms are decorated with antique Tuscan furniture, “cotto” flooring and wooden ceiling beams.
The pool is situated at about 15m from the house, on an higher level. Accessible using the Roman staircase the pool is covered in a light blue pvc lining which gives the pool an intense blue colour. The pool is equipped with a diving board and sun loungers for relaxation under the large trees.
The swimming pool will be available for use between the last Saturday in April and the first Saturday in October, at other times of the year the property is rented without use of the pool.

It is not surprising that Tuscany and Umbria are the most popular destinations in a country full of popular destinations! There are SO many reasons to visit the regions; from the simply but stunning local cuisine and wine to the rolling landscapes, from the medieval cities such as Lucca, great architecture and monuments in Pisa and the beautiful hill towns like San Gimignano. There really is something for everyone. Lucca is located at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is less than half an hour from the Tuscan coast. There are so many traces of it’s ancient history, from the footprint of the Roman amphitheatre to the archeological remains under the 12th Century church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata and the various towers and villas dating from the 12th to the 16th Centuries. Amazingly, as Lucca grew the city walls remained, which is not the case for many of the cities in Tuscany.
