This villa dates from the 14th century and is located in the suburbs of Lucca. The villa was used as a hunting lodge by Paolo Giunigi, a member of a noble family who controlled the city of Lucca from 1400 to 1430. In recent years, the house was restored preserving its original architectural features and its ancient materials such as terracotta-tiled floors, ceilings and beautiful frescoes. The villa is situated on a hill facing south and offers stunning views over the surrounding countryside. The interiors are decorated in a rustic style with some antiques while the bedrooms are furnished in a simple style and all bathrooms have been recently renovated. The outside areas provide a large, partially shaded terraced garden, a beautiful pool and an old "lemon-house" converted into a charming covered terrace. The swimming pool can be found in the garden on a lower level.
This property is located only 55 kms away from the famous seaside resort of Forte dei Marmi and is ideally located to visit, just like the Versilia coast with the beautiful beaches. Within 80 kms there are the beautiful cities of Pisa, Florence, San Gigminano and Volterra.
Access to the property is via an unpaved road not suitable for low cars.
The swimming pool will be available for use between 1st May and 30th September, at other times of the year the property is rented without use of the pool.

There are SO many reasons to visit the regions; from the simply but stunning local cuisine and wine to the rolling landscapes, from the medieval cities such as Lucca, great architecture and monuments in Pisa and the beautiful hill towns like San Gimignano. There really is something for everyone. Lucca is located at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is less than half an hour from the Tuscan coast. There are so many traces of it’s ancient history, from the footprint of the Roman amphitheatre to the archeological remains under the 12th Century church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata and the various towers and villas dating from the 12th to the 16th Centuries. Amazingly, as Lucca grew the city walls remained, which is not the case for many of the cities in Tuscany.
