This is an old farmhouse which was restored in 2009 by the current owners. The oldest part of the property is the watch tower and from the windows on the first floor there are magnificent views across the Val di Chiana, Val d'Orcia and also a stunning view of MountAmiata. The farmhouse has been completely and sympathetically renovated using ecological and traditional methods; the materials used include bricks, lime putty, wood, terracotta floors and cork in the insulation. The heating system uses energy sources such as biomass and solar thermal. The property is situated in an ideal location for day trips to Pienza, Chianciano Terme and Montepulciano, as well as visiting the most important cities such as Florence and Siena.
The park of the property covers more than 50 acres, partly wooded and partly cultivated with olive trees (almost 1000) and fruit trees (almost 300). The area surrounding the house is characterized by ornamental plants and olive trees. Near the house there is a pergola equipped with table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining. The rectangular pool is just a few steps from the house and is fully fenced. It also has a small pool ideal for children. Around the pool are a cold water shower and sun beds.
The swimming pool will be available for use between the last Saturday in April and the first Saturday in October, at other times of the year the property is rented without use of the pool.
The farmhouse is divided into 4 separate unlinked areas:
Ground floor, main house; Living room with fireplace, access to a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table. There is also a shower room and a double bedroom with access to the outside.
Also on the ground floor, with access from the outside; Double bedroom with a shower room suitable for the disabled. Separate external access: Double bedroom with ensuite shower room.
