Open from day to night, Casa do Lago is Quinta do Lago’s iconic all-day lakeside restaurant. One of the prettiest restaurants in the area, Casa do Lago sits in a stunning spot right by the edge of the water with glorious views across the lake and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Expect a relaxed beach vibe, with white wooden decor and panelling, giving a nautical nod to its beautiful lakeside setting.

As for the food, fresh fish and local seafood are the specialities, along with ‘petiscos’ (Portuguese tapas), meat and pasta options. There’s also a children’s menu and a vegetarian menu. It can be a bit pricey and, due to its popularity, it can get busy so it’s recommended to book a table in advance.

Gigi’s

Dining at Gigi’s is a quintessential Algarve beach bar experience, offering uninterrupted views of Quinta do Lago beach and the expansive ocean, nestled within the natural beauty of Ria Formosa Natural Park. 

A much-loved favourite of visitors to Quinta do Lago for over 35 years, the restaurant recently underwent a significant renovation and now features a larger terrace, more accessible features for those with reduced mobility, and a new bar. 

As well as great views, Gigi’s serves up delicious Ria Formosa-inspired cocktails and light bites created from ingredients sourced in the local area. On the menu, you’ll find a range of seafood, from ‘conquilhas’ (one of the Algarve’s favourite types of shellfish) and clams to sea bass, crab, lobster and fresh fish from the local coast. Open everyday from 12.30pm-5pm, Gigi’s recommends making advance reservations due to its popularity.

The Shack

For good times, a visit to The Shack is a must. Offering a laid-back and rustic charm, it’s the perfect lakeside hangout where you can unwind with afternoon drinks and savour tasty food in a relaxed summertime atmosphere. Embracing the authenticity of an Algarve fisherman’s shack, this bar and grill allows you to leave your worries behind and simply immerse yourself in the picturesque setting. 

The Shack remains open all day until late, serving your favourite cocktails alongside delectable tapas food and live music. Situated right by Quinta do Lago Lake, the deck offers fabulous views of the lake and the Ria Formosa. 

Whether you drop by for a refreshing drink and snack during the day, relax with something cool in the afternoon, or indulge in sunset cocktails, The Shack provides a haven where you can easily spend an entire day. Tucano’s

Across the road from our Lake Apartment and nestled within a breathtaking tropical garden, Tucano’s creates a haven where guests can unwind and savour delicious meals on a terrace, overlooking a paradisiacal pool. 

The cuisine at Tucano’s is a delightful fusion of Mediterranean flavours, with each dish using the finest locally sourced ingredients. Whether returning from a round of golf or after a day spent on the beach, the restaurant delivers great food in a lovely atmosphere, ensuring a memorable dining experience.

Bovino Steakhouse

One of the most exclusive steakhouses in the Algarve, Bovino Steakhouse serves up a delicious selection of succulent steaks, award-winning cocktails, striking decor, and a vibrant atmosphere. 

Overlooking the lake and the Ria Formosa Natural Park, the steakhouse takes pride in serving the highest quality beef sourced from around the world, including Ireland, Argentina, USA and Australia, with cuts to suit all tastes – Fillet, T-bone, Ribeye, Chateaubriand, and all served with a variety of sauces. Julia’s

Occupying a prime spot on Praia do Garrão since the 1960’s, Julia’s beach restaurant is often on the must-visit list for Quinta do Lago visitors – and for good reason. Julia’s menu not only has a great selection of fish dishes, but also delivers a wide range of snacks, light bites, and, of course, cocktails. 

The fun times at the beach bar are well-known and the setting is unbeatable, with incredible water vistas. There’s also a new sunset deck, perched above the beachside bar, and its elevated position means it’s a great spot for sunset views. 

Open all day and all year round, Julia’s is a fabulous spot for beachside relaxation and sunset meals.

A charming and cosy Irish gastropub, The Cheeky Pup is known for its friendly and lively atmosphere, to both locals and tourists alike.

Il Vero

Situated next to the Ria Formosa Nature Park and with a panoramic view of the golf course Quinta do Lago Sul, Il Vero is a modern and elegant restaurant with a relaxed ambience.

KOKO is a delightful venue for relaxed dining with the family, or for on-the-go meals. Dano’s at The Campus is Quinta do Lago’s sports bar and restaurant where you can kick back and relax. Near to villa Marilyn, this inviting establishment offers guests the perfect setting to indulge in sports, craft beer, delectable food, and a family-friendly atmosphere. 

The ambience is both stylish and laid-back, adorned with ample natural light that fills the space. Whether you’re in the mood for a daytime snack, a satisfying meal, or catching live sports action on the numerous screens while enjoying a drink at the bar, Dano’s has you covered. The venue also hosts lively late-night live music, guaranteeing an evening of foot-stomping entertainment. 

With its fantastic outdoor terrace overlooking the padel and tennis courts of The Campus, as well as an adjacent children’s play area, Dano’s is a welcoming option for families. Inside, the modern decor is complemented by exquisite Portuguese tiling details and nostalgic sports accents. UMAMI

If refined Asian dining is what you’re craving, you can’t overlook UMAMI.  Taking inspiration from fishermen of the northern coastal waters of Japan, the restaurant’s approach combines nature and exciting flavour combinations. 

Nestled beside the beauty of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, UMAMI is an intimate boutique restaurant, so it’s best to call ahead to reserve a table. It’s not cheap, but it’s a great chance to enjoy the distinct and perfected flavour of Japanese robatayaki cuisine, where fish, meat and vegetables are grilled over natural and sustainably sourced charcoal.
