I left my heart in Dubrovnik – Part 2

Following on from my last post, I wanted to share some of the villas we visited on our familiarisation trip to Dubrovnik.

In the few days we were there, we saw a lot of houses in different locations in and around Dubrovnik and each was unique. With so many villas to choose from we are, of course, here to help our clients find the right villa for their group but we wanted to share a few in this post to give an idea of the variety available in this amazing place

Villa Zaton Bay

Wow, this house is breathtaking.  Just 10 minutes away from Dubrovnik, it is very unique in style and combines original stone features with stylish, modern touches.  It even has its own chapel in the grounds which can be used for weddings.  In fact, Yanushka is tempted to book it for her own wedding!  It is a truly magical property.

What we loved – the outside area is enchanting and is great for relaxing and socialising.

Things to note – it is quite expensive so best to fill all the bedrooms and spread the cost!

Villa Tomera

This property is only a year old and feels fresh and spacious with every room designed to make the most of the spectacular views.  It is only 20 minutes away from Dubrovnik and 150 metres from the beach.

What we loved – the quirky inside/outside dining area surrounded by glass which opens fully to allow for alfresco dining or can be closed for cosy gatherings in the evening or cooler months.

Things to note – the lovely, small beach within walking distance is pebbles so take flip flops!

Via Santa

A more affordable property for this area and perfect for those who want to escape it all and appreciate a view.  The property itself is simpler in style with focus on the sensational view.

What we loved – the view, the view, the view!!!!!

Things to note – due to its elevated position, the approach to the property is very steep and the road is unusually narrow

Villa Roque

Situated in the Konavle region about 20 minutes outside of Dubrovnik, the first thing that strikes you is the stunning countryside which surrounds the property.  We were warmly greeted by the owner who had freshly picked mandarins and figs from the garden for us to enjoy while sitting in her beautiful, peaceful garden.  We were also offered a glass of Limoncello – how could we refuse?

What we loved – the outside dining area with barbeque, sink and furniture for 12 people, gardens full or fruit trees and even a play area for children

Things to note – there is a resident cat who lives in the grounds of the villa (not inside) but perhaps not suitable for those with allergies as he is very friendly!

Villa Cube

A brand new villa completed in 2019 – the owner has used her natural creativity to make this space functional, sociable and incredibly stylish.  She takes great pride in looking after guests and can assist with everything from taxis to caterers and even restaurant reservations!

What we loved – the amazing outdoor furniture which is both impressive and comfortable.  No expense has been spared.

Things to note – the glossy, tiled floors could get slippery when wet and the interesting staircase may not be suitable for toddlers.

Villa Dubrovnik

Walking distance from Dubrovnik Old Town, we were mesmerised by this enchanting villa.  Built in the 18th Century and lovingly converted, this is the perfect place to experience the history and vibrancy of Dubrovnik without the need for a hire car.

What we loved – the magical courtyard and dining terrace which is surrounded by foliage and flowers and overlooks the illuminated city walls of the old Town as the sun goes down.

Things to note – due to the stone walls inside the villa and the lack of windows on one side, the interior is quite dark – but very cosy for out of season bookings!

Gamud

This is a lovely, spacious house set in the countryside near Dubrovnik.  It is simple and affordable and perfect for families wanting to experience the area without being too close to the city.

What we loved – the large, fenced garden, perfect for those wanting to spend their holiday outside, soaking up the sunshine and breathing in the fresh country air.

Things to note – it is simply furnished and a little old fashioned but this is reflected in the price

This is just a snapshot of the villas we visited and there are plenty more not yet on our website as some are still being renovated or made ready for guests for the coming season.  If you want to visit this beautiful destination, just get in touch and we will help find the perfect villa for your requirements and budget.

We genuinely love talking villas and holidays so please don’t hesitate to ask for guidance when arranging your holiday.  The website is a vast, confusing place…..let us do the searching for you.
