Sao Nemesio, Santa Eulália, Albufeira, Algarve

Property ref: PA154

This stunning villa is set in an almost unrivalled position on the cliffs above a beautiful beach (part of the larger Praia d'Oura Beach) where there is a snack-bar. There is direct private access to the beach from the gardens via a gate, steep steps and a stile. This is a large private estate and the property is next door to Vallabonzo though they have individual private entrances. There is a gate in the garden for guests wishing to book both properties, otherwise they remain private and independent from each other.

It is difficult to believe that this villa is just a short walk from Santa Eulália with its variety of restaurants and bars - whilst some of these are visible from parts of the garden, other sections enjoy complete privacy. The popular Areias de São João is also close by making this a good choice for groups which include teenagers, although many clients rarely leave this idyllic spot and choose instead to stock up at the local supermarket.

The views from the garden of São Nemésio are truly amazing. There is a central courtyard and the landscaped garden has lawns, flower beds and three rock pools cascading into the fabulous swimming pool below. The horizon pool is banked by colourful rockeries, has a gentle shallow, sloped, access and when viewed from the garden, seems to fall away into the sea beyond.

The accommodation is in three sections; the main house, the annexe and courtyard room. These have external access from the entrance courtyard.

NB Access to the nearest beach may be difficult for those with walking difficulties but the main Santa Eulalia beach is just a short drive and has good disabled access.

Please note, the pool does not have a pool cover so we cannot guarantee the temperature.

Weddings & parties may be accepted at this house on request.  Venue hire fees will apply.  Please ask us for details.

Reviews

Mrs G. "Just wanted to say that we all had such a wonderful holiday!!!  Sao Nemesio was the perfect villa in every way, we just loved it…. The view is to die for (I am missing it SO much) the garden is beautiful & much admired by the gardeners in our party!  The accommodation is excellent & worked well for all the family & we liked the space (in the house & the garden) that allowed some private areas etc. The children thought the pool with the surrounding rocks was great for jumping in & the two little ones, aged 4 & 6 gained a lot of confidence with their swimming! Having the little path to the beach was a winner, we felt very privileged indeed; and falling asleep at night to the sound of the surf/sea is so special!! When my husband was taken ill on the first morning, Alistair & Helena were both wonderful with help & support….fortunately he made a full recovery, & we went on to all have a really fantastic time together.   I shall certainly tell all my friends what a great place it is & thank you all for your help & guidance with the booking etc."

Mr S.  "We had a wonderful time. The villa was exquisite, and the manager went far beyond the call of duty to please us. A large "thank you" from us to him when you two speak. Enjoying a jacuzzi while watching the sunset over the Atlantic is a wonderful experience. We plan to return again next year. After last year's experience, we were not sure that we would be as happy when the novelty wore off. It turns out we were happier! It was like coming home to an old friend."

Ms P  "It was the most amazing place to arrive at and as we looked around the properties i just got better and better. Thank you for a great holiday".

Mrs M.  "We've just returned from a week's holiday at Sao Nemisio and would just like to say what an absolutely fabulous place we thought it was.  We forgot to complete the holiday questionnaire as we were rushing off but just wanted to let you know it was amazing and hopefully we'll be going back next year if poss for a bit longer!

Mr V  " The villa Sao Nemesio was excellent! Beautiful house and garden, close to the beach, well equipped. Some of us didn't leave the property until after 4 days!

Mr M  "A pleasure as always. The views from the villa were stunning, absolutely stunning. "

Mr H "As a frequent visitor to the Algarve, I was delighted to discover Sao Nemesio. The villa and gardens are just as stunning as they appear on your website, and the cliff top position with direct access to the beach really made our holiday. We will be back. Thank you for creating wonderful memories."

Mrs P "Dear Villa Agency Team, Thanks very much for recommending such a gorgeous and well appointed villa. We really enjoyed our stay at San Nemesio, loved the direct sea views, infinity pool, beach restaurants and will be booking again next year. BTW the restaurant at Villa Joya was out of this world - again, thanks so much for your advice on the right place to celebrate".

Mr W "Sao Nemisio for me is captured by only a very simple description and that is ‘nirvana’. I haven’t historically been one for sitting poolside, but finding myself under Sao Nemisio’s poolside tree overlooking the coast whilst others wafted in and out of the house and kitchen worked brilliantly. The house interior feels like home without trying too hard to impress and the gardens and views give a sense of elevation that is more than just a physical. They also provide direct access to two great restaurants that are perfect for lunch and beaches to swim from. In short, if only I could afford such a holiday home".

Mrs H "We have had the best time here in Sao Nemesio!!"

Map

Santa Eulália, Albufeira, Algarve

Albufeira was once a fishing village and is now a popular bustling resort with many restaurants, bars and shops. The old town retains its character with winding cobbled streets and white painted archways; the modernised main square has cafés, music bars and, in the height of the summer, there is live entertainment. Leading from the square are narrow streets with numerous bars, as well as stalls and shops selling local pottery, handicrafts and souvenirs. The main town beach is reached through a tunnel and at low tide becomes joined to a smaller beach, once the home of the local fishing boats, which are now to be found in the marina to the west of Albufeira. Overlooking the fishermen's beach are some great fish restaurants including the well known Ruina Seafood Restaurant and the area has a lively atmosphere during the summer with several bars playing live music until late. ...

To the west side of the town is the brightly coloured marina, which is home to some stylish yachts, several cafés, restaurants and an ice cream parlour. Sea fishing trips, dolphin safaris, diving and other water activities are available from the marina and in the summer there are open-air concerts and fashion shows. The Cerro Grande is a residential area overlooking Albufeira Marina with a supermarket, restaurant, café/bar and is a short walk from the town centre. The road around the edge of Albufeira leads to the newer suburbs, where the daily fish, fruit and vegetable market is located.

The eastern side of Albufeira eventually becomes the popular resort of Praia d'Oura, not for anyone who wants to experience the Portuguese way of life but a hive of bars, nightclubs and shops - all catering very much to holidaymakers. Praia d'Oura is home to Indigo Divers where several of our staff have completed their PADI courses Indigo Divers. A little further east are the areas of Santa Eulália and Olhos D'Água which were originally small fishing communities and have since become bustling resorts. One of the trendiest clubs in the Algarve - Le Club - is located on the Santa Eulália beach, which also has two restaurants. These resorts have lovely sandy beaches with attractive rock formations, creating rock pools at low tide. Most of the villas we offer here are in prime positions within walking distance of a beach, shops and all the attractions. Some are set in extensive grounds, allowing privacy even at the height of the season. Pinecliffs Golf Course is close by (Algarve Golf Desk), as is the smart Sheraton Resort, with excellent (if expensive)restaurants. An added bonus to the general area is the Algarve Shopping Centre, located just to the north of Albufeira near Guia. It has numerous and varied shops, fast food restaurants, cinemas showing English speaking films and ten pin bowling, as well as a large hypermarket.

Pros
These are good choices for young people or families as many of our properties are within walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants and beaches.
Cons
These resorts become crowded in the peak season and are more likely to be affected by building work than rural areas.
