This stunning beach front villa is set in an almost unrivalled position on the cliffs above a beautiful beach which has good restaurants and is part of the larger Praia d'Oura Beach. It is one of the exclusive villas built on the clifftop, between Praia da Oura and Santa Eulalia There is direct, private access to the beach from the gardens via a gate, steps and a stile. Just below the villa, there are 2 beach restaurants and the beach has sun beds and life guards.
This is a large private estate and the property is next door to Villa da Mare though they have individual private entrances. There is a gate in the garden for guests wishing to book both properties, otherwise they remain private and independent from each other.
The villa enjoys complete privacy and it is difficult to believe it is just a short walk from Santa Eulália with its variety of restaurants and bars. The popular Areias de São João is also close by making this a good choice for groups which include teenagers, although many clients rarely leave this idyllic spot and choose instead to stock up at the local supermarket.
The views from the garden of Villa Borromeo are truly amazing. There is a central courtyard and the landscaped garden has lawns, flower beds and three rock pools (one with jacuzzi) cascading into the fabulous swimming pool below. The horizon pool is banked by colourful rockeries, has a gentle shallow, sloped, access and when viewed from the garden, seems to fall away into the sea beyond.
The accommodation is in three sections; the main house, the courtyard on the first floor and the patio room both with external access from the entrance courtyard.
There is an independent annexe, with two bedrooms, just behind the main entrance. This may be available on request.
NB For those with walking difficulties, the main Santa Eulalia beach is just a short drive and has good disabled access.
Please note, the pool does not have a pool cover so we cannot guarantee the temperature.

I haven’t historically been one for sitting poolside, but finding myself under Borromeo’s poolside tree overlooking the coast whilst others wafted in and out of the house and kitchen worked brilliantly. The house interior feels like home without trying too hard to impress and the gardens and views give a sense of elevation that is more than just a physical. They also provide direct access to two great restaurants that are perfect for lunch and beaches to swim from. In short, if only I could afford such a holiday home".
