Although this property is not in Croatia, it is in the western corner of Bosnia and Herzegovina and has received multiple rewards for architecture and design. Surrounded in a thick belt of noise-cancelling forests and mature vineyards, it’s hard to believe the estate is situated only 10 minutes from the region’s lifeline, the Adriatic highway. On the very border of Croatia, only 30 minutes from the shimmering Adriatic coast, Mario Estate is within easy reach of the bustling hotspots of Split, Dubrovnik, Mostar and Sarajevo.  The beautiful countryside of Hercegovina surrounds you, and the river Neretva, with its Roman heritage, bird sanctuaries and unique gastronomic specialties are all around. The beautiful waterfalls of Kravice are only 10 minutes away.

This beautiful estate was designed and built by a former Croatian national football team member who wanted to create a peaceful place to unwind after a long and successful career.

Mario estate is so much more than a luxury private villa. Combining a touch of jet-set glam with totally relaxing surroundings, this is an idyllic retreat. The property has been created with this in mind and is a peaceful location with clean, contemporary lines and is the perfect place to totally relax, rejuvenate and enjoy nature.

When you arrive at the estate you will immediately notice the silence; over ten acres, the estate is on a gentle hillside with the perimeter enclosed by traditional stone walls. On arrival there will be some local drinks and snacks for you to enjoy.

The grounds are enchanting; organic vegetable gardens which will provide your fruit and vegetables, vineyards which stock the estates private wine cellar and olives, used to make the olive oil at your table. The grounds are also perfect for watching the amazing sunrises and sunsets.

You certainly won't get bored when staying here! There is a large infinity pool, a football pitch, sand volleyball, a tennis court, basketball and French boules.

Inside, the seven bedrooms are spread across three guest houses. The main house and a smaller house share the hilltop with the third, smaller guest house at the bottom of the property surrounded by vineyards.

All three houses share a similar, two storey layout. The lower floor is open-plan, all the kitchens are fully equipped and the adjoining lounges are spacious and airy with many extras such as booked-lined walls and feature fireplaces nestled in walls lined with chopped wood.

Although the property is equidistant from both Dubrovnik and Split Airports, Split is easier as it is via the main highway.

Included in the price is daily, homemade, traditional breakfast and use of bicyles.

Map

Croatia

The coastal regions of Croatia are comprised of the three old Croatian states of Istria, Kvarner and Dalmatia. Dalmatia, or the Dalmatian Coast as it is more commonly know. In turn, the Dalmatian Coast is divided into three regions: North Dalmatia, which includes Sibenik and Zadar, Central Dalmatia; including Trogir, Split, Hvar and Brac, and finally South Dalmatia; Korcula and Dubrovnik.

Miraculously, The Croatian coast has escaped the worst of the 20th and 21st Centuries and it’s natural beauty is enhanced by the wonderful architecture found in Pula, Zadar, Sibenik, Trogir, Korcula, Split and the pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik. Many of the smaller towns are equally impressive and charming and the landscape is quite simply breathtaking. With over 1000 islands, it is not surprising that boating and water pursuits play a big part in Croatian life. There are a multitude of beaches and coves, or small bays and marinas, nestled...

all along the coast of Croatia. All manner of boats can be hired, you can water ski, jet ski and there is some excellent scuba diving. Add to this the Mediterranean climate, balmy enough for olives, figs, vines, oranges and lemons to grow in abundance and it is easy to see why this is such a perfect destination for a holiday. One of the other main attractions is the big heartedness of the Croatian people. They are delighted to see tourists and are keen to share both their history and their culture. The cuisine is superb too – with a heavy Italian influence but taking advantage of the abundance of amazing seafood and fish dishes. If you haven’t yet visited Croatia, we envy you – at first glance it is unlike any other country combining just about everything you could want for a relaxing holiday in amazing surroundings.
